About The Position

Touchmark at Emerald Lake is seeking a Building Services Technician to help ensure campus buildings and equipment remain in good condition and operate properly and efficiently. The technician maintains attractive, clean, and well-kept grounds and common areas, and responds promptly to installation and repair requests. The role involves working in a geriatric community and interacting patiently and tactfully with residents, family members, staff, and visitors. On-call availability is required once per month, with the ability to respond within one hour.

Requirements

• Be available for on-call duty once per month and able to respond within one hour.
• Be organized, detail-conscious, and self-initiating.
• Have an outgoing, warm, and friendly personality.
• Have a genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment.
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Be committed to Touchmark’s values of hospitality, compassion, excellence, teamwork, and integrity.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Have experience demonstrating increasing responsibility in facilities maintenance; three or more years of experience is preferred.
• Have a strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, life safety, carpentry, painting, and floor coverings.
• Have experience performing general maintenance in a community setting.
• Have basic knowledge of appliance repair, motor maintenance, and basic plumbing and electrical repair.
• Be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Be able to pass criminal background and MVR checks.
• Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members, and visitors.

• Previous experience working in a health care environment.
