About The Position
The Building Services Coordinator is responsible for supervising inmates to include prioritizing and assigning work, maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, and making recommendations for inmate job transfers. The incumbent will be inspecting central facilities and outlaying buildings for safety problems, cleanliness, and comfort. In addition, the coordinator will be responsible for building maintenance and repairing, as well as researching and evaluating space requirements for employees who are redefining, relocating, or expanding their office space.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Three years of building maintenance, safety, management, or related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
- Valid driver's license
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Responsibilities
- Supervising inmates to include prioritizing and assigning work
- Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment
- Making recommendations for inmate job transfers
- Inspecting central facilities and outlaying buildings for safety problems, cleanliness, and comfort
- Building maintenance and repairing
- Researching and evaluating space requirements for employees who are redefining, relocating, or expanding their office space
- Purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment needed to complete maintenance tasks
- Selecting and specifying requirements of various departments
- Providing documentation to facilitate pricing, procurement and installation
- Performing walk through inspections
- Interacting with vendors and subcontractors to include detailing work to be completed, deciding when to deliver materials and ensuring they understand the conditions and standards required
- Reviewing all requests for vouchers, work orders, memorandums and responding to requests, and ensuring proper procedures are followed
- Ensuring grounds are properly maintained and groomed
- Overseeing and preparing the facility for meetings and events with proper equipment, seating, and tables
- Ensuring all tools and equipment are maintained
- Issuing receipts to personnel and inmates upon check out
- Performing inspections and spot-checking systems and mechanical rooms
