About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds of Thomas Stone High School. The role involves manual labor and requires the ability to perform various cleaning tasks, collect refuse, and assist with supplies and equipment. The position is a 12-month, non-exempt role on the AFSCME Salary Scale UA GRADE 3-4.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Physically capable of performing manual labor.
• Good verbal communication and human relations skills.
• A willingness to work overtime as required in cases of emergency.
• Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
• Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp.
• Visual acuity to use a keyboard.
• Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and cares for floors.
• Collects refuse both inside and outside the building.
• Dusts and cleans walls, windows, ceilings, and equipment.
• Cares for the exterior of the building and grounds.
• Assists in the receipt and relocation of supplies and equipment.
• Regular on-time attendance.
• Performs related duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Operations or the School/Building Principal.
