About The Position

Performs a variety of cleaning techniques including dusting, mopping, scrubbing and the use of heavy equipment. Cleans and services Arnot Health areas, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the hospital in an orderly and sanitary manner. Loads and unloads linen and microfiber carts, collects soiled linen and products, and completes regular housecleans in assigned areas. Must be able to perform specialized cleaning tasks such as washing walls, ceilings, windows, and cleaning the Morgue after an autopsy. Observes safety rules, maintains clean work areas, and attends mandatory educational programs. Demonstrates customer service by interacting in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to patient needs, and providing a secure and pleasant experience.

Requirements

Must be able to read and understand both verbal and written instructions.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Cleans and services Arnot Health areas, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in an orderly and sanitary manner.
Sweeps, mops, vacuums floors, shampoos carpets, and damp dusts furniture.
Transports and sets up furniture for meetings.
Operates small extractors, floor machines, and small burnishers.
Loads linen and microfiber carts and bins to predetermined par levels and completes deliveries.
Completes all functions associated with the linen processes.
Collects soiled linen and soiled microfiber products from designated areas and delivers to the soiled holding area.
Completes all functions associated with the soiled linen processes.
Washes walls, ceiling tiles, vents, windows inside and out, and window screens, light fixtures, and other high dusting requiring a ladder.
Takes care of garbage and medical waste and follows proper procedure on packing needle containers.
Completes regular housecleans in an assigned area, using proper procedures.
Replenishes supplies as needed.
Completes isolation cleaning using proper procedure.
Changes drapes and cubical curtains as required and moves beds as needed.
Cleans the Morgue after an autopsy has been performed and the major portion has been cleaned.
Observes safety rules and reports safety and health hazards to supervisor.
Operates all equipment in a correct, safe manner and cleans equipment after each use.
Maintains neat and clean work and storage areas.
Attends all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.
