About The Position

This position is for a School Secretary at Kenowa Hills Zinser Elementary. The role involves managing multiple tasks, communicating effectively with parents, students, and staff, and maintaining a secondary class schedule. The secretary will need excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and problem-solve. Proficiency in Power School and Microsoft programs is required. This is an in-person role requiring regular, on-site attendance.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of Power School and Microsoft programs.
  • This position is an in-person role and requires regular, on-site attendance at the assigned work location.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the school day across classrooms and intervention spaces.
  • Ability to sit, bend, kneel, or work at student level during small group or individual instruction.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to operate instructional materials, technology, and assessment tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to support students with a range of academic needs, including students who may require redirection or support with engagement.
  • Ability to implement instructional strategies and interventions with consistency and fidelity.
  • Ability to monitor and respond to student needs in real time during instruction.
  • Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and intervention teams to support student progress.
  • Must receive clearance from the Michigan State Police Department prior to employment.
  • Responsible for the background check fee.

  • Successful secretarial experience.
