About The Position

Partner is seeking full-time Building Science Project Engineers across the country to complete Property & Facility Condition Assessments and subsequent due diligence reports for our clients. This role involves conducting assessments of buildings to evaluate the condition of building systems, providing recommendations for immediate repairs, and determining future building system replacements based on observations and industry standards. The position also requires conducting site reconnaissance, data compilation, project research, technical report authoring, and preparing supporting documents. The Project Engineer will plan, schedule, and track project timelines, communicate progress and issues to the Project Manager and client, and provide recommendations and solutions, understanding the assessment's potential impact on the transaction process. Coordination and response to scope change requests are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors or Graduate Degree in Architecture or related Engineering Field (Civil, Mechanical, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering and/or construction/cost estimating
  • 3+ years of experience performing property inspections
  • 2+ years of experience completing similar work for financial institutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to and from project sites
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on projects concurrently with a proven ability to successfully deliver a quality product on time
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team
  • Familiar with the basic principles of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering, including construction and maintenance of structures and systems
  • Understand concepts of building component life cycles, system condition evaluation, replacement costs
  • Demonstrate strong skills in observation, deduction, and reasoning
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift
  • Requires the ability to climb a ladder

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of buildings to evaluate the condition of the building systems, provide recommendations for immediate repairs, and use observations and industry standards to determine future building system replacements
  • Conduct appropriate site reconnaissance, data compilation and organization, and project research (historical, regulatory, etc.)
  • Technical report authoring and preparation of quality supporting documents (maps, appendices, etc.)
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule and effectively communicate project progress and any issues as they arise to the Project Manager and client
  • Provide solid recommendations and solutions to the Project Manager and client, while understanding the assessment’s potential impact on the transaction process
  • Coordinate and respond to requests for changes in project scope
