About The Position

Your expertise shapes every project before construction begins. Bring your building inspection and plan review experience to a role that helps ensure safe, compliant development across Branson. Review and approve building and construction plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Interpret and apply ICC codes, ordinances, and technical standards to real-world projects. Communicate code requirements clearly through written comments, meetings, and daily interactions with architects, engineers, contractors, and the public. Conduct periodic field inspections to verify construction matches approved plans. Maintain accurate records and reports to support permitting, inspections, and compliance efforts.

Requirements

At least five (5) years of experience as a building inspector with a government organization
Three (3) years of experience as a plans examiner
ICC Certification as a Building Plans Examiner or be able to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field is preferred.
Supervisory experience is preferred
At least two (2) years of experience related to enforcement and/or application of property maintenance, building, sign, zoning, and codes is preferred.
