Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Class A or B CDL.
Clean driving record.
Track record of safety-conscious performance.
Strong process/procedure orientation.
Effective written and verbal communication/comprehension skills.
Strong team and customer service skills.
Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment.
Demonstrates initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
Safety conscious.
Knowledge of DOT compliance regulations.
Exerting up to 75 lbs of force regularly.
Repetitive motion associated with operating a forklift and other equipment.
Frequent climbing into and out of a large truck, bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.
Sitting for long periods of time while driving.
Outdoor working conditions, sometimes in extreme climates.

Responsibilities

Safely drive and operate a lumber delivery truck.
Assume responsibility for the proper operation and maintenance of the company vehicle.
Perform daily pre and post safety checklists on the truck.
Observe and obey all traffic laws in the operation of the assigned company vehicle.
Record the Department of Transportation (DOT) log at the end of each shift.
Record all information on each delivery ticket and turn in a signed delivery ticket.
Deliver orders/building materials to each customer according to the specifications on the delivery ticket.
Provide exceptional customer service and team support.
Provide back up to dispatch as needed.
Advise management of any customer situations beyond the scope of authority.
Maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and department of transportation (DOT) medical card.
Maintain an insurable driving record.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, identifying and addressing potential safety concerns.
Operate equipment according to specification and in alignment with designated safety standards.
Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc.
Perform other duties as required.
