About The Position

The Building Materials Associate provides effective administrative support to the site location, serves as first contact with customers and offers consultation to existing clientele. This role is responsible for managing incoming calls and information requests, assisting in the management of operational and sales activities, and greeting and assessing customer needs to direct traffic appropriately. The associate will engage customers and business associates in a friendly and professional manner, providing input, direction, and support. They will efficiently process basic customer orders/quotes and other transactions, assist customers in problem resolution, and develop a clear understanding of customer needs to provide relevant design and project support. Additionally, the role involves organizing and distributing mail, performing miscellaneous office and building management tasks, reviewing and adhering to policies and procedures, and performing all duties in compliance with safety requirements. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) as well as strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Able to accurately assess customer project and design needs and provide proactive solutions.
  • Strong computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • High level of professionalism and personal responsibility.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or background relevant to interior design/construction or a related field preferred.
