About The Position

The Building Maintenance staff are responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and installing building wiring and assisting with the repair or replacement of associated building machinery, equipment, and general facilities maintenance duties.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical installation and repair experience
  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Ability to install electrical in compliance with the NEC
  • Ability to perform work involving power tools, ladders, and other equipment as needed
  • Ability to organize work flow on a daily basis
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to operate equipment
  • Understand proper use of various power equipment and tools
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Self-motivated to ensure building and surroundings are attractive, clean, and well functioning
  • Positive attitude; takes pride and ownership in job
  • Ability to think and act quickly, problem solve, and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional, helpful, and poised demeanor
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out one- or two-step instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a journeyman level craftsman with licensing
  • Previous experience in light construction work and HVAC desired
  • Formal trade training preferred
