Position Summary Under general supervision performs a wide variety of maintenance and mechanical preventative and repair tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions and dexterity to use standard hand and power tools.
  • Work requires between one and two years of general maintenance experience.
  • Use independent judgment in determining equipment problems and method of repair.
  • Work requires responsibility for materials and equipment.  Probable cost in case of improper or careless handling of materials and/or equipment would be moderate.
  • Work requires the use of considerable care in using tools and/or performing tasks normally regarded to be dangerous to ensure the safety and protection of others.
  • LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision performs a wide variety of maintenance and mechanical preventative and repair tasks as assigned.
  • Install and maintain communication and data lines and related equipment.
  • Maintain fire extinguishers, fire alarm boxes, smoke detectors, sprinkler system, etc. and keep appropriate records.
  • Assist with snow removal and grounds care as needed.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel in performing preventative maintenance, major repairs in the Health System and its equipment, or the installation of new equipment.
