About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for the upkeep of the facility, which includes landscaping, painting, snow removal, vehicle maintenance and repair, lawn care, pipe insulating, concrete/masonry work, and 110/220-volt electrical installation and upkeep. It also involves janitorial duties and any other assignments given by management. The role requires standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching in all areas. These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment with slippery walking surfaces. The role will also involve working in coolers on condensation. The successful building maintenance candidate must complete Level 5 Building Maintenance within 9 months or they will be returned to their previous department or a production labor position. This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Tyson Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or 1 Year On-The-Job Training.
  • Must have 1 year's experience or education in at least two (2) of the following areas: carpentry, 110/220 electrical, concrete masonry, pipe insulation, vehicle repair, painting, plumbing.
  • Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of TMs from Hourly to upper Management and Government Officials.
  • Must be able to read manuals and printed directions to repair equipment and use cleaners, solvents and paints.
  • Must be willing and able to work any department or shift.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 plus pounds as necessary.
  • Must be willing and able to stand 8 to 12 hours a day on hard floors.
  • Must be willing and able to work in confined space and working at heights above normal work area; use of ladders, lifts, and scaffolds; as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work in extreme hot or cold temperatures.
  • All Tyson team members are responsible for safety, including personal safety and food safety.
  • Qualified internal candidates will have less than 6 attendance points and no disciplinary action resulting in suspension in the last 12 months.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
