About The Position

This position cleans and maintains multiple Clearwater Command facilities and grounds to ensure they are neat and clean on a daily basis. It performs maintenance, janitorial, and/or housekeeping work, and monitors work in progress and upon completion for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with variable hours between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Work is performed in a normal office environment, with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. and two years of experience performing general custodian/janitorial duties and/or general maintenance, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid state driver's license.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Ability to maintain driving ability according to State, DOT, and Salvation Army policies, procedures, and certifications.
Ability to read and communicate in English.
Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform housekeeping and minor maintenance work.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain multiple facilities and grounds on a daily basis.
Perform maintenance, janitorial, and/or housekeeping work and monitor work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; polish mirrors; and replenish supplies.
Clean, sanitize, and maintain employee breakrooms, including tables, countertops, appliances, sinks, and floors.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wax floors; sweep sidewalks.
Regularly empty trash cans and collect trash from grounds.
Monitor lighting and change light bulbs as needed.
Clean windows and dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
