About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician Level 3 to provide corrective and preventative maintenance on all CMR exterior and interior structures and systems. This role involves a wide range of skilled tasks including plumbing, HVAC troubleshooting and repair, electrical work, carpentry, appliance repair, drywall, painting, and more. The technician will operate various equipment, interact with vendors, and provide excellent guest service. Administrative duties include maintaining accurate records for parts, labor, inventory, and preventative maintenance. This position is crucial for maintaining the resort's buildings and equipment to a high standard.

Requirements

  • Must be flexible to working days and hours, especially ramp up/down and busy occupancy periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to work in all types of conditions: Crawl spaces, cold or hot areas, inside and outside.
  • Must be able to work in small, hard to reach places.
  • Must be able to work on or around roof areas of buildings
  • Must be able to work well with others and be a team player, while helping to lead and develop other staff members.
  • Must keep accurate records and be able to communicate properly with vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 4+ years of basic experience in the maintenance field.
  • General maintenance work, including: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other general interior and exterior building maintenance as needed or directed by the Building Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain a safe work area at all times.
  • Plumbing: basic repair, water shutoff, drain service, new install, PVC, alteration/remodel install commercial equipment/appliance install/filters, ABS, PEX, copper sweating
  • Electrical: 110v, lighting, equipment electrical, commercial equipment/appliance, motors, controls, 220v+
  • Refrigeration: basic cycles, temperature/pressure gauges, temperature/pressure management, combined gas laws, EPA certification, hermetic compressors, evaporators/condensers, discharge, brazing, installs
  • HVAC: filters, ducts, thermostats, furnaces, commercial boilers, electric motors, controls, flow systems, pneumatic systems
  • Carpentry: door repair/install, window repair/install, trim repair, painting/staining, siding, flooring repair/install, decks/timber, restoration/remediation, FRP, drop ceiling, building new structures, framing/walls, counter tops
  • Locksmith: new install, copy key, punch key, SALTO RFID locks, extract broken key, rekey, lock picking
  • Appliance: troubleshooting, basic repair, Tier 1 appliance service (ice, coffee, cocoa, etc.), PM & maintenance, install testing & proper operation, Tier 2 appliance service (espresso, steamer, ovens, flattop, fryer, etc.)
  • Painting/Drywall: surface prep, application, cutting, stain, drywall repair, wood maintenance/restoration, mud/texture matching, sprayers, specialty tools, product selection, ladder/lift work
  • Flooring: carpet tile, vinyl products, broadloom carpet, tile & grout
  • General: resort knowledge, basic plumbing repair, roof safety, basic welding, snowmobile

  • Use of many types of hand and power tools: drills/drivers, routers, electrical meter, planer, jointer, power saws, auger/snake, jetter, key punching and key cutting machines, paint sprayers, and other tools and equipment associated with repairing building systems.
  • Comfortable with computers and smart devices.
  • Must be computer literate with Microsoft Outlook and be able to learn other job-related computer systems.
  • Some knowledge of different types of woods, fasteners, adhesives, floor and ceiling coverings, paint, plumbing fixtures, hydronic heating valves & controls, appliance parts, key styles and other items associated with repairs of building systems.
  • Refrigeration: EPA certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled maintenance on Copper-owned buildings and equipment; interiors and exteriors, including alterations/remodels, drywall, tile, door, siding, decks, flooring, window, and lock repair.
  • Corrective and preventative maintenance of walk-in freezers, walk-in coolers, reach-in coolers, ice machines, drinking fountains, plumbing systems, ventilation hood systems, HVAC, controls, pneumatics, electrical, and commercial restaurant equipment.
  • Interact with vendors, specifying and ordering of maintenance parts and materials.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including aerial lifts and various power tools to perform repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide a high level of guest service in interactions with visitors to the resort.
  • Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, i.e., parts billing, labor billing, inventory management, preventative maintenance records, and equipment records.
  • Functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture” with our guests and employees.
