Requirements

• 2-year associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trade or Healthcare Mechanic Certification.
• Completion of Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trade apprenticeship program or equivalent.
• 3-years’ experience in a related field.
• 4 years of military experience in a related field may also be considered in lieu of the educational and experience requirements.
• Driver License is required.

• Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Responsibilities

• Perform various Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks to maintain and repair equipment and systems. This includes mechanical, electrical, controls, and pneumatic components.
• Apply analytical and manual skills in inspecting, maintaining, installing, calibrating, troubleshooting building systems and equipment.
• Operate high pressure boilers, chillers, and generators.
• Use a variety of machines, hand tools, and test equipment commonly used by Technicians including, but not limited to, multimeters, airflow hoods, flowmeters, and gauges.
• Must be able to prioritize work to see the needs of the patient come first.
• Complete work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
• Record work time electronically in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Maintain inventory and recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
• Attend and participates in classes, seminars, workshops, and other continuous education as appropriate to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
• Perform utility management.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Technicians perform work with minimal supervision.
• Night shift 6PM to 6AM, Set 2-3-2 schedule. Every other weekend.
