Inspect and analyze the condition of all buildings and installed equipment maintained by Facilities Management. Inspect/Repair and perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical/electrical equipment, including HVAC systems, boiler systems, sump pumps, etc. Department of Labor inspections for water heaters. May be asked to assist with other duties related to operations, maintenance, and renovations to buildings and equipment, such as light-duty carpentry, painting, electrical, and other miscellaneous repair and maintenance activities; and respond to emergency and urgent work. There will be regular exposure to disagreeable conditions such as extreme temperature changes, odors, loud noises, cramped spaces, etc. Regularly stands, lifts, bends, stoops, lifts above shoulders, and carries 50 lbs or more. Appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), gloves, safety glasses, etc., are provided for use in the workplace. Job requirements include occasional use of respiratory equipment. Therefore, an individual is required to pass a medical exam to ensure physical ability to wear, use, and perform work in respirator equipment. Position is for 2nd shift work with shift hours of 4 pm to 12 am nightly. The employee in this position may be required to work overtime before 4 pm, or after 12 am, work includes when the university is closed, weekends, and holidays. The ability to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management, regardless of weather, will be required.
