The mechanic will report problems and their resolution status. Accurate and timely paperwork detailing inspections and findings is essential. Responsibilities also include repairs to building utilities, plumbing systems, and miscellaneous carpentry work, such as vacuum systems, steam and condensate systems, domestic water systems, boiler systems, sump pumps, floors, shelves, bulletin boards, and blinds. Other duties include preventive maintenance, light carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing work, responding to emergencies, performing proper equipment lubrication, and assisting other Facilities Management employees. This may involve assisting with emergency generators, inventory, new building inspections, special water systems, and chemical waste systems. The role requires participation in Department of Labor inspections, reading blueprints and specifications for new and renovated facilities, and snow/ice removal. All other related duties as assigned.
