As the Building Inspector II, you will: Inspect new and existing residential, business, commercial (TFO’s and R2 Occupancy) and other buildings and structures for conformance with safety and other requirements of national, state, and local codes. Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- TSBPE inspector’s license, TSBPE trade license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- ICC Inspector’s Certifications - Residential or Commercial Plumbing or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background investigation and MVR check.
- Must possess valid class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities
- Inspect new and existing residential, business, commercial (TFO’s and R2 Occupancy) and other buildings and structures for conformance with safety and other requirements of national, state, and local codes.
- Review building permits and write field reports.
- Administer and interpret applicable sections of the City’s Code of Ordinances.
