This is a career ladder position, allowing employees to progress and receive salary increases as they obtain additional ICC certifications and successfully complete the required competencies for each advancement level. Employees are encouraged and supported in achieving combination inspector certifications in building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other applicable disciplines. Applicants who currently hold a Utah Combination Inspector License are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants who do not currently possess required certifications must demonstrate the ability to successfully obtain certifications within established timeframes as a condition of continued employment. Perform inspections during construction to ensure compliance with building code, zoning, and safety regulations. Interpret regulations and codes to builders and property owners and assist them in altering construction plans to meet established standards. Perform electrical, plumbing and mechanical inspections to ensure compliance with national, state and local codes.
