Inspectors will be hired on a full-time or seasonal basis based on level of experience and workload. Requirements

  • Inspectors who want to better themselves and want to be challenged in the specialized field of healthcare life safety.
  • 1+ years of special inspection, firestopping, or related life safety experience is required; 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
  • You must be comfortable working in varying indoor hospital environments as well as active construction sites.
  • Due to the physical nature of the work, you must be able to lift 50 lbs. – 75 lbs. periodically.
  • You’re required to work with your hands, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • At times you may be working in confined spaces, above drop ceilings, or maneuvering around complex mechanical systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., IFC , ICC Fire Inspector etc.) are preferred.
  • A two-year technical degree from a school, or a degree from a four-year college in a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field observation and inspection of life safety systems and firestopping assemblies in hospital and healthcare environments.
  • Verify contractor compliance with approved plans, specifications, and UL fire resistance directories.
  • Produce detailed project documentation for healthcare compliance, ensuring adherence to NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) and local building codes.
  • Documentation will include daily diaries, deficiency logs, photographic reports, compliance memos, and spreadsheets.
  • Applicant must be willing to travel and perform assigned duties outside of the immediate area.
