About The Position

Paragon Honda is a leading automotive dealership dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and employees. We are currently seeking a reliable Building Handyman to join our team in Woodside, NY. The Building Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and custodial tasks to ensure the dealership's interior and exterior are well maintained and presentable. This role supports daily cleaning, minor repairs, grounds upkeep, and special projects to maintain a professional environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Positive and cooperative attitude when working with colleagues and management.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably complete assignments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours to meet the dealership’s needs.
  • Proficient in operating basic cleaning equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor repairs and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to lift between 50 and 100 pounds and perform manual tasks.
  • Ability to maintain schedules and keep records as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in building maintenance or custodial work preferred.
  • Prior experience cleaning commercial or automotive dealership facilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior cleaning including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms.
  • Maintain offices, meeting rooms, and common areas by cleaning windows, walls, furniture, and appliances.
  • Care for flooring and stairways using appropriate methods such as stripping, waxing, and deep carpet cleaning.
  • Complete landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks, including snow removal using equipment when necessary.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying wastebaskets, recycling containers, and collecting litter throughout the property.
  • Service cleaning equipment by changing filters, belts, tubing, and report any maintenance needs.
  • Track inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocking as needed.
  • Perform basic repairs such as furniture maintenance, paint touch-ups, drywall repair, and installation of dispensers or hardware.
  • Operate company fleet vehicles when required for duties.
  • Adjust cleaning methods and schedules to accommodate special events or dealership needs.
