Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of groundskeeping, landscaping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, drainage systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to safely operate lawn equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other assigned maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and determine when work requires support from a qualified craftsperson.
  • Ability to organize work, complete inspection checklists, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and communicate effectively with multiple departments.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather and site conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, custodial, construction, or general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required based on assigned duties.
  • Ability to complete all company-required safety, equipment, and site training.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, and pull.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and equipment within company-established lifting limits.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, and other changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to use ladders and work from elevated positions when properly trained and authorized.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all site safety requirements.
  • Ability to work around industrial operations, vehicles, equipment, noise, dust, and varying terrain.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety by following all company policies, procedures, permits, and safe work practices.
  • Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, environmental concerns, property damage, or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain facility grounds so exterior areas remain clean, orderly, professional, and free of avoidable hazards.
  • Mow grass, trim weeds, edge sidewalks, and maintain vegetation around buildings, signs, fences, walkways, drainage areas, and other designated locations.
  • Remove trash, debris, scrap material, loose parts, and other hazards from facility grounds.
  • Perform routine painting and minor building maintenance, including touch-up painting of office walls, doors, handrails, curbs, barriers, and other facility surfaces.
  • Replace damaged or stained ceiling tiles and complete other minor interior repairs within the employee’s training and authorization.
  • Assemble and install office furniture, shelving, cabinets, and other basic facility equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs to doors, locks, hinges, walls, flooring, fixtures, and other building components within the employee’s qualifications.
  • Maintain the site spare-parts storage yard in a clean, organized, labeled, and accessible condition.
  • Ensure stored parts and materials are protected from damage and kept clear of roadways, emergency access routes, and walking paths.
  • Perform and document a monthly inspection of the exterior perimeter and facility pad.
  • Ensure unused parts, debris, loose materials, and potential trip or environmental hazards are removed from perimeter and pad areas.
  • Inspect and maintain drainage ditches, culverts, storm drains, and stormwater pathways to ensure they remain clear and capable of draining properly.
  • Report erosion, standing water, damaged drainage components, blocked culverts, or other stormwater concerns.
  • Inspect, maintain, and exercise floodgates to confirm they remain accessible and operate properly.
  • Report any damaged, seized, leaking, blocked, or inoperable floodgates immediately.
  • Inspect and maintain facility signage, including safety, traffic, parking, directional, and building identification signs.
  • Inspect the company fence line and gates for damage, vegetation overgrowth, security concerns, and needed repairs.
  • Complete minor signage, fence, and gate repairs when qualified and submit work requests for repairs requiring specialized support.
  • Maintain sidewalks, parking areas, entrances, outdoor break areas, and other common spaces.
  • Support seasonal and emergency preparation activities, including freeze protection, storm preparation, drainage clearing, and severe-weather readiness.
  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment and report damaged or unsafe equipment before use.
  • Document completed inspections, repairs, material usage, and outstanding concerns in the company’s computerized maintenance management system.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Safety, Operations, Engineering, and site leadership when work may affect employees, traffic flow, production, or facility access.
  • Assist with room setups, employee events, deliveries, office moves, and other general facility-support needs.
  • Refer electrical, HVAC, plumbing, structural, and other specialized repairs to properly trained and qualified personnel when the work exceeds the employee’s authorization, training, or experience.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
