Building & Facility Technician - 1st Shift
About The Position
Berkshire Precision Tool, LLC is seeking a Building & Facility Technician for its production facility in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The role primarily involves routine building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, and plumbing, to maintain and repair the facility, its exterior, and grounds. Other duties include changing filters, handling trash and recycling, and completing planned projects. The position is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The salary range is $25–$35 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Requirements
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Must take and pass the requirements for an MA Class 1-D hoist license (forklift).
- Good mechanical ability and willingness to learn to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair problems.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Skill using hand, power, and specialized tools.
- Basic computer literacy for operating equipment and using maintenance management systems.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Maintain and repair the facility, building exterior, and grounds as required.
- Change filters and handle trash and recycling.
- Complete planned projects.
- Perform routine machinery maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Repair machinery and components using technical manuals and diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair problems as they arise.
- Keep machinery and equipment in efficient and safe working condition.
- Follow relevant safety protocols and regulations.
