We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented Project Engineer to join our Northeast Building Envelope team. This role will focus on investigating and remediating existing buildings, including exterior restoration, preservation design, and forensics; as well as the design and construction administration of new facades and roofing and waterproofing systems. Projects range from cultural institutions, higher education facilities, healthcare facilities to vintage high-rises and adaptive reuse of buildings. Experience with historic and modern glazing systems is desired. Must be conscientious and creative, detail-oriented, and professional with attentiveness to client communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Direct knowledge of building envelope systems, including roofing and waterproofing, glazing assemblies, and claddings.
  • Experience with assessments, CD’s, and construction phase services in the field and office.
  • Ability to travel to job sites around the Maine, New Hampshire, northern Massachusetts and the greater Northeast.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Revit and AutoCAD.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree Preferred.
  • Professional licensure is preferred.
  • Knowledge of conservation or preservation techniques is preferred.
  • Experience with historic and modern glazing systems is desired.
  • Experience with Sketchup, Rhino/Grasshopper, THERM, WUFI is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage building envelope consulting projects and work directly with clients.
  • Tasks include condition assessments, developing material testing programs, report writing, developing repair design strategies, creating design narratives and basis-of-design reports, preparing and reviewing design drawings and specifications, and construction phase services.
  • Team coordination would include working with design architects, structural engineers, conservators, testing labs, owners, owner representatives, and contractors.
  • Additional in-house coordination would include TT’s diverse disciplines, including protective design, façade engineering, structural design, and sustainability, as well as other TT offices around the US and Canada.
  • Interpret building codes and project/design/construction specifications.
  • Contribute to TT’s leadership by facilitating clear communications and guidance among team leaders and promoting professional relationships internally and externally.
