About The Position

JLL is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical, and emergency backup systems. The Building Engineer will analyze system operations, diagnose problems, and implement corrective actions. The position also includes overseeing contractor activities, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring adherence to safety programs and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull up to 60lbs
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including: fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical, and emergency backup systems.
  • Monitor operation, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Record readings and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions, and take corrective action.
  • Install and repair plumbing/piping/tubing; install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls.
  • Assist other operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching and motor controls.
  • Operate and maintain critical equipment including UPS systems, generators, and critical air conditioning units.
  • Comply with employer and client policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Oversee the activities of contractors working within the building.
  • Keep records of buildings rounds and readings, all engineering logs and engineering data sheets.
  • Provide advance training and notification to all contractors regarding building's critical functions and work to be performed.
  • Understand and comply with emergency escalation procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to employer safety program, Technical Bulletins, established engineering guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform additional job duties as requested.
