The Oak Brook Park District is seeking a skilled professional to manage our facilities, mechanical systems, and Aquatic Center. Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience with a trade: HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, etc.
  • Must be familiar with aquatic systems and certified as an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or can obtain certification within one year.
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License
  • First Aid, CPR and AED, Confined Space, Respirator, and Scissor Lift training certification is required within six months from the date of hire. Training will be provided by the Park District.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain/repair all HVAC equipment in Park District buildings.
  • Complete HVAC monthly preventive maintenance for all Park District facilities.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain facilities for the Park District.
  • Directly supervise the Building Technician and Assistant Building Engineer.
  • Plan and prepare payroll and performance appraisals for the Building Technician and Assistant Building Engineer.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, aquatic systems, and any other equipment or systems and related components at assigned Park District facilities, and recommend in-house or contracted repairs as necessary.
  • Manage the maintenance and schedule of contractors during the Swim Central annual closure.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of maintenance activities and monitor all preventive maintenance contracts.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of preventive maintenance activities.
  • Oversee the proper operation, water tests, chemical safety, and mechanical systems at Swim Central and Splash Island in accordance with the State of Illinois and DuPage County Health Department Pool and Spa Codes.
  • Provide quarterly training to Building Technician, Assistant Building Engineer, and Tennis Center Building Engineer to increase overall Park District maintenance knowledge. Document training throughout the year.
  • Assist with annual maintenance planning and project prioritization.
  • Assist the Parks Department with seasonal preparations and annual maintenance of restrooms and concession stand on the North Campus.
  • Timely opening and closing Splash Island seasonally, as well as maintaining proper operations.
  • Manage, organize, and care for the department's tools and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of maintenance activities and inspections.
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring the annual budget for the Aquatics and Facilities Department.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrate exceptional internal and external customer service skills in all communication.
