About The Position

As a Building Engineer at JLL, you will play a critical role in maintaining optimal performance of building systems and mechanical operations. You will be responsible for conducting routine assessments, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting complex HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure seamless facility operations. This hands-on position directly contributes to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional property management services and creating safe, comfortable environments for our clients and their occupants.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state equivalent, with a minimum of two years of related trade schooling or two years of college
  • Minimum four years of experience in electrician trade, HVAC/refrigeration, or emergency backup systems (generators, UPS, etc.)
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and machinery required for building maintenance and repair
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and local building codes
  • Physical ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet, lift 60 lbs repeatedly, and perform equipment inspections in difficult-to-access areas requiring hands and knees positioning

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor the operation of refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical systems, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems; make adjustments and record readings to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Analyze building systems performance, diagnose malfunctions, and take immediate corrective action to minimize disruption to operations
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment, including assembling necessary tools, completing task sheets, and reporting equipment issues or supply shortages to the Operations Manager or Lead Engineer
  • Install and repair plumbing, piping, tubing, electrical wiring, motors, pumps, air compressors, heat exchangers, and associated controls; run conduit and rebuild mechanical components as needed
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of equipment repairs, close work orders, track time in reports, and provide timely communication with management regarding system status
  • Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete specialized tasks such as painting, carpentry, and medical equipment repair under specific infection control conditions when required
