The primary duty of a Building Engineer is to maintain the overall appearance and condition of the assigned property. Specifically, a Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining the mechanical, life safety, electrical, plumbing, and hardware systems of the assigned property in superior working condition and excellent appearance. The Building Engineer works under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer and is responsible for the coordination and execution of scheduled activities, including corrective, preventive maintenance. The Building Engineer will assist in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to service requests, and take on such other duties as are assigned by the Lead Engineer (if assigned), Chief Engineer, or Facilities Manager. He or she will maintain the building operating routine and carry out scheduled tasks at the highest level of efficiency and operation. A Building Engineer is to perform his or her duties in a timely, conscientious manner and maintain good communication with other building staff.
