Responsible to assist with the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities. This role involves troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, grounds equipment, and HVAC. The Building Engineer will also clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of devices, assist with installation and modification of building equipment, and replace/repair building finishes. They will troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities. A competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance is required. The role requires immediate response to emergency situations and customer service requests, and regular inspection of buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety and preventative maintenance. The Building Engineer will also maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary, and comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company directives. Ability to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems is essential. All required C&W Safety Training must be completed annually, and employees must comply with the C&W Uniform Dress Code.
