About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Building Enclosure Consultant, Senior Project Manager to join their Building Science Solutions team in Orlando, Florida. This role involves managing project teams, mentoring staff, building client relationships, pursuing project work, and reviewing client deliverables, including technical content. The position requires travel up to 25% of the time. Intertek's Building and Construction division offers a suite of services across architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines, focusing on risk management and quality assurance for new developments and existing assets. The Building Science Solutions group specifically concentrates on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for both new construction and retrofit projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • 5+ years of building enclosure consulting experience
  • Technical understanding of building enclosure systems and construction process
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
  • Ability to manage projects and internal project team on all sizes of projects
  • Ability to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.
  • Extensive technical competence and ability to effectively communicate with clients, designers, contractors, and coworkers, both in writing and orally
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to meet changing and strict deadlines
  • Consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report

Responsibilities

  • Manage consulting/commissioning projects
  • Assist in national/international business development, marketing, and sales efforts regarding consulting and testing
  • Prepare proposals and develop new business promptly to support the business
  • Collaborate with Building Science Solutions Group and testing managers to source and share client contacts and leads
  • Perform project management activities including planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, execution, and reporting
  • Monitor contract requirements, invoicing, receivables, and maintain acceptable profit margins
  • Participate in training and management of building science staff to assist on consulting projects
  • Write and execute testing protocols and prepare construction document deliverables for new and renovation projects
  • Perform reviews of drawings, specifications, shop drawings and submittals; develop remedial work recommendations for existing buildings
  • Perform construction administration site visits and prepare reports/punch lists; coordinate with project teams and stakeholders
