About The Position

The Building Enclosure Project Architect/Engineer uses their knowledge of building enclosure systems to collaborate with clients and other professional service providers to develop solutions for new and existing building enclosure systems while establishing and maintaining productive relationships with all parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or civil engineering from an accredited school
  • Five to ten years related work experience
  • Professional registration with the state of California (RA or PE)
  • Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance as required by state law; driving record that meets criteria established by Company’s insurance carrier
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam
  • Working knowledge of building enclosure systems such as below-grade waterproofing, horizontal waterproofing, exterior wall systems, and window, door, and roof systems
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and to create design details for architectural plans
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction and contribute to a team
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and composure

Responsibilities

  • Review and redline architectural drawings and specifications to help the design team develop a complete and constructible set of project specifications and details for the building enclosure.
  • Prepare details and specifications for various project types.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for conformance with project requirements.
  • Conduct on-site quality assurance observations and prepare and submit electronic daily reports.
  • Evaluate building enclosure systems to help develop solutions to water intrusion.
  • Prepare agendas and conduct or attend pre-construction meetings.
  • Perform water testing in accordance with ASTM E1105.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including CWE policies, on-site contractor rules, and Cal-OSHA regulations.
  • Follow CWE policies and procedures in the performance of work and general conduct.
