About The Position

This is maintenance and personal service work involving the custodial care and maintenance of public or institutional buildings and premises. Work is performed under general supervision.

Requirements

Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in janitorial work.
Knowledge of the precautions necessary to safeguard property and equipment.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks in the care, cleaning, and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
Ability to use a computer for email and time entry.
Ability to work and make decisions on your own.
Ability to adjust work schedule as needed due to operational needs.
Ability to follow work rules and Standard Operating Procedures.
Experience and training which demonstrates a basic knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors; dusts and polishes furniture; Washes windows, woodwork, toilets, washrooms, and fixtures in order to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
Inspects institutional areas in order to safeguard property and equipment in the building and on the premises.
