About The Position

The Building People, LLC has an opening for a Building Controls Design Engineer to support the design, implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support of Building Automation Systems (BAS). This junior-to-mid-level role is intended for candidates with approximately 2–5 years of experience who are developing hands-on expertise with Tridium Niagara–based, vendor‑agnostic building controls solutions across commercial, institutional, or federal facilities. The Building Controls Engineer will work under the guidance of senior engineers and project leaders while collaborating with customers, project managers, and subcontractors to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable smart building systems. In this role, the Building Controls Engineer will assist with controls engineering tasks, including system configuration, programming support, integration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation. The position will contribute to project delivery while continuing to build technical depth in BAS platforms, open protocols, networked controls, and smart building technologies.

Requirements

  • Approximately 2-5 years of experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with Tridium Niagara-based, vendor-agnostic building controls solutions.
  • Experience across commercial, institutional, or federal facilities.
