About The Position

ECS is seeking a Code Compliance Project Manager to join its Southwest Building Science + Infrastructure team in San Antonio, Texas. The role leads inspection and plan review projects and ensures compliance with state and local building codes. It combines hands-on building systems inspection with project management, technical support, client development, and business development. The position may also involve mentoring and training other building inspectors.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 5 years of experience in code compliance inspection of building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and/or plan review.
At least one valid ICC certification: B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I, or Fire Inspector II.
Texas State Licensed Plumbing Inspector certification.
A valid driver’s license is required when driving for or on behalf of an ECS subsidiary.

Nice To Haves

IECC Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform third-party building, electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety inspections.
Prepare and submit daily time records and inspection/field reports in accordance with ECS policy.
Apply knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures.
Manage code compliance projects, including plan reviews, technical support, inspections, and monitoring project performance and budgetary conditions.
Prepare proposals, attend project site meetings, and assist with resolving technical and administrative problems.
Mentor and train other building inspectors as needed.
Assist with management of profit and loss.
Maintain and develop client relationships and participate in marketing and business development for code inspection services.
