About The Position

The Building Cleaner participates in cleaning various rooms and areas of the facility. This includes tasks such as sweeping, mopping/scrubbing, vacuuming carpets, and removing trash to proper disposal areas. The role also involves cleaning restrooms, restocking supplies, cleaning stains from carpets and seats, and cleaning windows. Additionally, the cleaner will assist in separating recyclables from trash and properly disposing of them, as well as cleaning and maintaining other equipment and areas as directed. A walkie-talkie radio will be used when needed, and the employee must always present a neat and groomed appearance and demeanor during the workday.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to operate all power equipment in inventory (buffers, wet vacuums, large area vacuums, ride-on scrubber & sweepers, floor machines & carpet extraction machines, etc.) safely and with minimal supervision.
Ability to clean and maintain equipment, including minor repairs
Ability to listen and follow both verbal and written instructions
Ability to read and understand GHS CHEMICAL SAFETY PROGRAM & SDS sheets to use required chemicals in a safe and proper manner
Capable of working safely from ladders and small lifts if/as needed to complete assigned tasks
Ability to understand & complete OSHA BBP Training requirement & follow the process when in cleaning up certain spills etc.
Driver’s License Required
Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
Must be able to complete trainings and pass all testing requirements.
Must have professional attitude and appearance
Must be at least 18 years old
Lifting at least 60 lbs. without assistance
Walking and standing for most of the assigned shift, as well as bending and stooping
Ability to work off ladders, scaffolding, lifts, as needed
Climbing and descending steps/stairways with needed equipment to complete cleaning tasks assigned

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in similar functions desirable
Qualified to operate various types of large, powered cleaning equipment is a plus (floor scrubber, buffers, sweepers & carpet extraction units) or be capable of completing required training to operate such equipment.

Responsibilities
