About The Position

As a Building Automation Technician with JLL, you'll be at the forefront of smart building technology, ensuring our clients' facilities operate at peak efficiency. This critical role centers on monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Building Automation Systems (BAS) to deliver exceptional building performance. You'll leverage your technical expertise to maintain seamless operations, analyze system data, and implement solutions that directly impact occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Niagara 4 (N4) certification demonstrating proficiency in current building automation platforms.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with Building Automation Systems in commercial, industrial, or laboratory environments.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial HVAC systems, plumbing controls, and electrical systems as they relate to building automation.
  • Demonstrated experience with BACnet communication protocols and integration of building systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity to diagnose complex technical issues independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in laboratory environments with specialized HVAC and control requirements
  • Familiarity with Siemens building automation hardware and control devices
  • Experience with multiple Niagara platform versions and system migration projects
  • Advanced reporting and trending capabilities using BAS analytics tools
  • Knowledge of energy management strategies and building optimization techniques

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Building Automation Systems continuously to identify and respond to alarms, faults, and system irregularities requiring immediate attention
  • Troubleshoot BAS issues by analyzing system data, diagnosing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to restore optimal functionality
  • Adjust HVAC controls, setpoints, and system parameters to maintain comfortable building conditions and maximize energy efficiency
  • Run trends, generate detailed reports from BAS data, and provide analysis to support maintenance planning and system optimization initiatives
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and facility management teams to resolve complex system problems and implement improvements
  • Document all maintenance activities, system modifications, and troubleshooting procedures to maintain accurate records and support knowledge transfer
  • Participate in preventive maintenance programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for building automation systems
