About The Position

We are seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join our team as a Building Automation Technician. This role offers a structured four-year paid training program for those new to the field, including hands-on experience, mentorship, and development check-ins, allowing you to earn while you learn. Experienced technicians can immediately apply their skills and grow professionally with advancement opportunities. In this role, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems, work with HVAC controls, energy management systems, and commercial equipment, improve energy efficiency and overall building performance, and support customers in commercial facilities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a keen interest in technology, building systems, and sustainability.
  • Previous experience is not required, but an eagerness to learn is essential!
  • Some experience in building automation, HVAC systems, electrical systems, or a similar field is a plus.
  • Proficiency in BAS software, building automation protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks), and diagnostic tools is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and interact with clients.
  • A passion for technology and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and reach as needed.
  • Ability to walk active job sites, including climbing stairs and ladders and navigating uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to wear required PPE during site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems
  • Work with HVAC controls, energy management systems, and commercial equipment
  • Improve energy efficiency and overall building performance
  • Support customers in commercial facilities
  • Receive training to assist in the installation of building automation systems, including control panels, sensors, and other equipment, while ensuring compliance with approved designs and construction documents.
  • Leverage your knowledge to install, configure, and troubleshoot building automation systems, ensuring proper functionality and optimal system performance.
  • Help implement and configure building automation system programs and graphical user interfaces (GUIs), with support from senior team members if needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system faults, malfunctions, and alarms, while developing a deep understanding of system functionality and design.
  • Document installations, repairs, and system changes, ensuring all work is tracked accurately for project closeout.
  • Support senior technicians with preventive maintenance, inspections, and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects meet compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Provide end-users and building occupants with clear instructions on BAS system usage and functionality.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in building automation systems.
  • Assist the BAS Service team as needed with inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and resolve any performance issues or malfunctions.
