About The Position

This role focuses on the commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of building automation systems. The specialist will work with various control systems and technologies, ensuring efficient and compliant operation of commercial facilities. Responsibilities include programming, network integration, database management, and supporting project installations and existing systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Alerton, Tridium and/or Distech building controls (field commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting).
  • 1+ years of BACnet MSTP experience with commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • 1+ years of experience with programming and building automation controls database management.
  • 1+ years of experience with troubleshooting basic electric and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
  • 1+ years of experience with proven field experience in building automation controls programming, network integration, and system commissioning.
  • Understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers and multi-phase power (120VAC and greater).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control wiring diagrams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronics-related studies preferred.
  • A Niagara N4 Certification
  • 2 years of experience programming, servicing, and troubleshooting Distech, Alerton, or Tridium controls systems within building automation operations.
  • 2 years of experience with proven field experience and the ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases.
  • 2+ years of experience in Construction, Building Automation Controls/Engineering, or related fields within Building Automation.
  • Deep understanding of HVAC operations within a commercial facility (K-12, government facilities, hospitals, and/or data centers).
  • Experience supporting retrofit projects or modernizing existing building automation systems, replacing outdated controls, sensors, or hardware with newer technology.
  • Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites.
  • Experience creating start-up documentation, including daily logs, check-out logs, and commissioning documents.
  • Experience providing service support to existing installations, ensuring compliance with building occupancy codes and ongoing efficient operation.

Responsibilities
