About The Position

Responsible for designing, programming, installing, and maintaining computerized systems for HVAC, lighting, and security, to optimize building performance, improve energy efficiency, and enhance occupant comfort. Troubleshoot control systems, manage network connectivity, troubleshoot/install and calibrate field devices, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance. Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and facility staff to implement upgrades and new technology. Provides education and training to Facilities Engineering team members on the installation and operations of automated systems controls equipment and computerized controls functions. Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict. Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls.
  • Experience with programming and graphics software for platforms including Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Delta and Schneider.
  • Proficient in HVAC systems, Low Voltage electrical circuits, and building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CEM - Certified Energy Manager, LEED) are highly valued.
