About The Position

Siemens is hiring a Building Automation Design Engineer Intern for its Summer 2027 Smart Buildings Internship Program. The 10-week internship is based at the Philadelphia-area office in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, and rotates through departments at the local NOC office focused on smart buildings and sustainable infrastructure. Approximately 80% of the intern’s time will be spent learning the Design Engineer role and its related activities, while approximately 20% will be spent with the Estimating team to understand cross-department interactions. The program is intended to develop future Siemens talent and help interns explore potential post-graduation careers. Work is full-time, 40 hours per week, and the role is hybrid. Interns must live within 50 miles of the office and have access to a reliable vehicle; no transportation, housing, or relocation support is provided. The listed hourly pay range is $24.00–$28.00, based partly on projected graduation year and subject to factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Interns are eligible to contribute to Siemens’ 401(k) program. Building automation systems manage and control building systems such as HVAC, lighting, security, fire safety, and other critical functions using sensors, controllers, software, and communication devices. In this role, the intern will work alongside Engineering and Operations teams to understand project requirements and develop building automation designs for a range of facilities, including schools, data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high-rise buildings, and laboratories.
