Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to carry out instructions and interact tactfully with people.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with written instructions for the setting up of rooms and use of equipment and supplies.
  • Capable of deciphering instructions, schedules, emergency plans, and taking action to complete them correctly and in a timely fashion.
  • Must have the ability to execute good judgment and utilize problem solving skills when necessary.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, prioritize the tasks, and complete them in a timely fashion.
  • Think independently and determine what tasks must be completed.
  • Lift and maneuver tables, chairs, and other equipment over 25 pounds.
  • Must understand basic operation of audio/visual and kitchen equipment.
  • Required to occasionally work outside, such as shoveling and salting the facility walks in the winter, taking out garbage year-round.
  • Dependable and able to accomplish assigned tasks independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to manage time, multitask, and use critical thinking skills to complete assignments.
  • Must have the ability to meet and deal with the public effectively and be able to direct others appropriately.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, open, and close facility for rentals, programs and special events.
  • Provide appropriate room setup and takedown for classes, meetings, parties and special events.
  • Set up audio-visual equipment.
  • Unlock/lock outdoor furniture.
  • Supervise program and building users to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
  • Inspect all rooms, equipment and supplies for any hazard or safety concerns.
  • Maintain all common areas for a neat and pleasing appearance.
  • Secure the building at the end of shift, ensuring lights are off, doors are secured and locked, and the alarm is working and activated properly.
  • Perform light cleaning and public restroom upkeep, remove trash, move furniture and equipment, and obtain supplies for programs, classes and meetings.
  • Monitor facility user groups, enforce rules and regulations, and report any damage or unsafe conditions.
  • Serve as primary on-site contact for evening and weekend events, responding to customer questions and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide excellent customer service during events and programs, answering questions both in-person and via telephone.
  • Maintain the safety of all patrons and employees in the facility and implement emergency response plans when required.
  • Complete Accident/Incident Reports as needed.
  • Conduct a facility walk through every 20-30 minutes.
  • Shovel and salt front entrance during snow and ice conditions as needed.
  • Inform the supervisor of any recommendations for improvements to the facility, rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist program instructors as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
