About The Position

This part-time position involves the maintenance of outside grounds, including lawns, shrubs, irrigation systems, flower beds, and lawn equipment, as well as general building and maintenance repairs. The role requires a strong work history and the ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Understanding how to use and operate lawn care equipment is required
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have a strong work history
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers
• Must be able to work independently and also part of a team environment
• Constant standing, walking, forward reaching, pedal control and grasping
• Frequent head turning, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, handling, climbing and reaching
• Candidate must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
• Candidate must be able to push and pull a push mower seasonally
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Must be able to operate a forklift

Nice To Haves

• Grounds and building maintenance knowledge is a plus
• Painting, sheetrock, and general building maintenance knowledge and experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns
• Weed and mulch landscapes
• Trim hedges, shrubs, and small trees
• Remove dead, damaged or unwanted trees
• Seasonal work may include Christmas lights, washing windows, snow removal, salting sidewalks and/or pavement, mowing, trimming and yard waste removal
• May be required to climb and work off of a ladder
• Building maintenance repairs duties to include: painting, sheetrock repairs, floor and ceiling repairs, Building PM tasks, and assisting Facility Maintenance Tech as needed on other jobs
• Performs related work as required
