About The Position

Cheltenham School District anticipates that the following part-time support staff position will be available for the 2025-2026 school year. Position Title: Building Aide (Full-Time) – 7 Hours/Day Location: Cheltenham Elementary School Rate of Pay : $17.11 per hour (New Hires, based on the BEC 2025-2026 Salary Schedule) JOB SUMMARY: Assist in all areas of the building to enforce school policy. Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to information concerning students, personnel and other administrative matters affecting the district.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Must complete the on-line Support Staff Application to be considered for this position, which is located under Employment Opportunities at www.cheltenham.org.
External candidates will be required to provide Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances and other mandatory employment forms.

Nice To Haves

Paraprofessional training preferred
Additional training preferred
Previous experience with students preferred

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to areas within the school building including but not limited to the library, safety office, cafeteria, and classrooms.
Provide presence and coverage in the cafeteria by assisting and monitoring students during lunch period; assist with cleaning the eating areas at the end of lunch period.
Assist with supervising students before the school day begins and at dismissal to ensure transportation at the end of the day.
Provide coverage to the detention area and hallways as needed.
Provide supervision when students are outside at recess and at lunch by organizing activities; maintain discipline and monitor student behavior.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
