About The Position

Our Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville Minnesota is seeking a Build Technician II to join our team of experienced engineers and technicians supporting production. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for building and troubleshooting innovative test solutions supporting commercial and military and defense sensor products. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide variety of test solutions at various stages of their life cycle. A successful candidate will be a fast learner with the ability to respond to requests efficiently. Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • 2+ years as a technician supporting assembly and or testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building complex test cable assemblies or wire harnesses, test boxes, and assemblies of test systems.
  • Proficient in reading engineering schematics and wire lists and an understanding of Minnesota State Electrical codes and statues.
  • Proficient knowledge of hand, air, and pneumatic tools, common testing equipment, and crimping.
  • Experience with low-/high-voltage test systems.
  • Demonstrates good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals .
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment .
  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks .

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for building test hardware (cables, valve boxes, control boxes, interface boxes, etc.) and test solutions per engineering drawings.
  • You will review test system designs and documentation with engineering to meet customer requirements.
  • Will work in updating documentation (drawings, schematics, BOM, classification) or providing markups of new and existing test hardware.
  • You will troubleshoot issues reported by operations and provide the necessary repairs to solutions (cables, boxes, racks, etc.) in a timely manner .
  • You will work in a collaborative team environment and be able to communicate effectively with engineers, operators, and technicians.
