About The Position

The Office of Administrative Services, Division of Financial Services, administers the internal administration of the Personnel Cabinet including budgeting, accounting, purchasing, internal audit, and facilities and is seeking a Budget Support Specialist who will provide budget support in the maintenance of financial system processes ensuring compliance, along with overseeing billing processes and matters related to projects for the Personnel Cabinet.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • One year of professional experience in statistical analysis, accounting, auditing, planning, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in statistical analysis, accounting, auditing, planning, or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient computer skills that include preparing and maintaining excel documents.
  • Experience with payables, receivables and reporting using eMARS and EBI.
  • Works as part of a team and offers problem solving solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Processes and files daily accounts receivable and payables for goods and services.
  • Monitors and reconciles agency funds and makes corrections as needed.
  • Participates in the development of budget requests and advises management on program and financial issues.
  • Performs and/or assists management with several areas of procurement including but not limited to small purchases, EXR1, SPR1, Purchase Order and Delivery Order, Punch-Out, PRC, MOA, and PSCs.
  • Serves a Pro-Card Administrator, which includes training and oversight of pro-card holders, reconciliation of purchases, working with banking institution on security issues and creating policy.
