About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Budget Analyst provides routine budget and financial support services, reviewing, analyzing, and preparing budget-related documents, requests, and specialized reports. The role supports cancer center and clinical trial financial operations, including contract review, study fund tracking, grant financial management, invoicing, and accounting transactions. The position is in a remote environment, with office work as needed; it could shift to an office environment in the future. The employee must be able to work independently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• One year of budgetary experience.
• Professional demeanor, integrity, tact, and good judgment, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Skilled use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Impeccable attention to detail and strong document management skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management, task prioritization, and results-oriented work skills.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical trial contracts, create patient event milestones and schedules in the clinical trial management system, and invoice sponsors for payment.
• Track and transfer funds for internally funded studies.
• Manage interdepartmental services payments for the cancer center.
• Provide post-award financial grant management, ensuring cancer center grant awards are expended according to submitted budgets and university, governmental, and private sponsor policies and guidelines.
• Relay financial information to Principal Investigators.
• Follow up on inquiries concerning outstanding invoices.
• Ensure all visits and procedures are entered in the clinical trial management system before billing.
• Approve accounting transactions in the accounting system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
