About The Position

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Economics, or a similar field; equivalent years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Three years of experience in budget analysis, financial management, or another analytical role, preferably in a governmental capacity or a large organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's Degree.
  • Experience using Tableau data visualization software.
  • More than three years of experience in budget analysis, financial management, or another analytical role.
  • Previous governmental experience in budget or finance.
  • Understanding of public policy, legislative processes, government budgeting, and accounting.
  • Skills in business intelligence or data visualization tools like Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Work with county departments, leaders, and community groups as a budget expert.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to guide budget decisions and ensure optimal results.
  • Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to determine optimal resource allocation.
  • Translate raw data into clear stories and visuals to demonstrate impact.
  • Identify and implement improvements to budget processes, tools, and reports.
  • Partner with County Labor Relations in collective bargaining research, analysis, and cost projections.
  • Serve on countywide task forces related to budget, finance, and other fiscal matters.
  • Identify and resolve financial problems.
