About The Position

Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) is an agency founded in 2015 by dedicated BCBAs and LCSWs. We specialize in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families through direct, in-home/in-community ABA therapeutic services. Our approach utilizes the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to mentor and support children, fostering improvements in communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence. As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children in their natural environments, implementing individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Your role will involve building rapport, measuring progress, implementing ABA techniques, documenting data, and communicating effectively with clients and supervisors.

Requirements

• Most Relevant Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, Special education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology
• Strong and multi-tiered stakeholder communication skills required
• Adaptability and decisiveness under high-stress situations
• Exhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness
• Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
• Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
• Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.
• Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches
• Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals
• Structured and creative play skills

Nice To Haves

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Responsibilities

• Engaging rapport building and curiosity to find creative solutions to help a student more effectively communicate their needs, wants, and feelings
• Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition of student's progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)
• 1:1 Goal-oriented, in home, direct service work with a student involving implementation of ABA approaches including but not limited to discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward-systems.
• Thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.
• Actively engaging with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s)
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients or students, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers
