SAIC has an opening for a BSD Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL. This role provides software test engineering support to the Patriot tactical software life cycle program at the Army's Systems Simulation, Software, and Integration facility (S3I) at Redstone Federal Arsenal. The position involves reviewing and verifying BattleSpace Designer (BSD), BattleSpace Viewer (BSV), and Patriot Command Post documentation algorithms and requirements. The engineer will test BSD software to validate program requirements, use various protocols to communicate Link 16 data to the BSD display, and perform verification and validation testing on all software requirements and software fixes. Responsibilities also include reviewing test procedures and reports related to BSD testing and Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), validating results by testing over 40,000 software requirements annually, and submitting Software Investigation Reports for product enhancement. The role requires attending team meetings to discuss status/problem reports and submitting problem reports to software developers. Additionally, the engineer will develop and test Air Defense, Defense Designs for Global Areas of Operation to validate software requirements using BattleSpace Designer, Interoperability Engineering System (IES), and Network, System Integration & Test Environment (NSITE). Testing will include software written in C/C++ and software on Linux, and supporting contractor and government testing of Patriot software at S3I.
