About The Position

Valiant is looking for a BSC JLCCTC Team Lead to join their team. This role involves leading a team of simulation technicians responsible for the maintenance and operation of the JRTC JLCCTC Version 8.1 Federation. The primary focus is managing the technical aspects of large-scale, integrated Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Training events. The position also provides networking and administrative systems support to the JLCCTC computer systems, networks, and interfaces. The Team Lead will be the first-line supervisor for the team and is responsible for setting up and maintaining the physical and logical network required for the JLCCTC to function properly. This includes monitoring network performance, troubleshooting discrepancies, ensuring compliance with JLCCTC configuration management policies, and performing systems backups. Administrative tasks will be performed on Red Hat LINUX and Windows (servers and workstations). The role requires knowledge of operating the WARSIM workstation and other associated workstations within the federation. The position requires shift work and is subject to the JRTC rotational schedule. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Security+ certification and/or other acceptable certification to meet DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification.
  • 3+ years of experience with large scale live, virtual, constructive exercises, ideally at a Combat Training Center.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux, and Windows.
  • In depth knowledge of military equipment, organization, and capabilities.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the following areas: US Army Brigade Combat Team organizational structure; standard US Army Brigade Combat Team operational concepts, terms and graphics; JRTC Operations Group mission, organization, and employment; JRTC LVC architecture, and MSC Safety Management, Property Management and Quality Control.
  • Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide networking and administrative systems support to the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability Federation (JLCCTC) computer systems, networks and interfaces.
  • Will be the first line supervisor for the team accomplishing most of these tasks.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining the physical and logical network required for the JLCCTC to function properly.
  • Able to monitor network performance and troubleshoot any network discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance with JLCCTC configuration management policies and perform systems backup as needed.
  • Performs systems administrative tasks on Red Hat LINUX, Windows (servers and workstations).
  • Must possess the knowledge to operate the WARSIM workstation and other associated workstations in the federation as a user.
  • Accomplishes other tasks and assignments as directed by the Branch Chief or Operations Manager.
  • Requires shift work and is subject to the JRTC rotational schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.
